Hello Parents and Students. It has been a great start-up. We are continually adding new registrations to the school to which we are thankful. Please watch the orientation videos on our website for those who have come to us in the last week.
We find that September is a fast month as we prime the pump on school initiatives and class enhancement. Throughout the year, I will be writing about ways you can support your child/dependent and warning signs of potential issues. Students who are new to virtual education feel a sense of control in their education as they create their study times. This responsibility is double-sided and can sneak up on a student. We have a student engagement protocol our teachers use when they see students not engaging or falling behind. The basic understanding is this; when a student routinely stops engaging in learning, the teacher reaches out to the child to inquire if they need support. Likewise, the teacher will reach out to the parent if there is no result or communication. If the child is still unable to engage, the teacher can request a meeting with admin staff as a concern. From there, the student and/or parent may be contacted by either the guidance counsellor, learning support or the administration to discuss support plans. We hope that all students can have success throughout the year. Sometimes support requires a change in timetabling or programming.
I look forward to connecting with you and have high hopes for our students.
