Travelling Out of Country
Accessing PowerSchool from outside the country can sometimes be challenging due to local internet restrictions or government policies. Unfortunately, our school is unable to provide support for these issues, as they are beyond our control. Additionally, due to recent global events, some countries may block access to websites hosted outside their borders, which could affect your ability to log in to PowerSchool or other school systems.
If you are having trouble accessing our platforms while outside Canada, using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) may help. A VPN allows you to securely connect to the internet and select a Canadian server, which can make it easier to access our systems. Some safe and user-friendly VPN options with free plans include ExpressVPN, Surfshark, and ProtonVPN. We recommend checking local regulations before using a VPN to ensure it is allowed in your location. Secure paid VPN - NordVPN
Synchronous and Live Assessments
All assessments must be completed live under teacher supervision for students enrolled in synchronous and some asynchronous courses to receive a grade. This is not optional and requires students to attend their scheduled assessments, even if they are in a different time zone. Teachers conduct and supervise assessments during Alberta time and regular school hours, which may mean students outside the province or country will need to adjust their schedules to participate. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure they can attend at the required time, as alternative arrangements cannot be made.
