Returning Grade 12 Students

Returning Grade 12 Students

Sometimes students will want to return to upgrade their courses.

Grade 12 Year 2, Non-Graduated Students

Students are allowed to return to school for the second year of grade 12. However, your registration confirmation for next year won't happen until the end of June. We will confirm with all grade 12 students who want to return once all registrations are in and we have enough space. You can meet with the guidance counsellor to choose your courses for next year during the current year. Factors that affect acceptance:

1. Students are to be successful in the previous year with online learning.

2. We do not accept 19 year old students.

3. Student is in good standing with the school (no plagiarism, attends classes, attends to courses, etc.)

4. Space in class.  Once the class enrollment has reached it threshold, students will no longer be accepted.

5. No upgrades are permitted; please see below.

6. Must seek permission by meeting with the Guidance Counsellor to develop a plan.

7. Summit Trails is a school of choice and is not obligated to take grade 12 returning students.

Upgrading Courses

This means the student has already passed the course and wants to increase their grade.

Students can take courses at RVS Community Learning Centres.   Upgrading students cannot be enrolled in asynchronous (WeCONNECT) courses until after the first round of students has a chance to access the course (beginning of the third week of September).

Land Acknowledgment

Rocky View Schools would like to acknowledge the land and recognize all the Indigenous Peoples whose footprints have marked these lands from time immemorial. Together, we can learn and honour the Ways of Knowing of Indigenous Peoples for all future generations.
